Writing Yoga: Writing your mythic adventure

The Writing Yoga for September

Happy September, Reader.

Do you wish your writing were more ...

meaningful, intelligent, authentic, relatable, serious & light, profound, elegant, provocative?

These adjectives came from people who entered the drawing for The Writer's Voice last month. (What a wonderful group of writers this is!)

Thanks to everyone who entered, and congrats to Joanne and Alexis, the two winners.

Later this week, you'll hear more from my about my new book. And in two weeks, you'll get a chance to enter the next book give-away.

Until then, try out this month's Writing Yoga (related to this month's book give-away), and check out a writing contest!

The legendary adventures of your life

September's Writing Yoga is a quick-and-easy take on a powerful storytelling technique. You can use it whether writing a personal essay or messing around in a writing journal.

Rather watch a video? Watch it on YouTube.

Wild Muse Nature Writing Prize

Have any wonderful nature writing pieces kicking around? You might want to know about the Wild Muse Nature Writing Prize.

According to the people running it, "The prize invites essays, personal stories and more of up to 2000 words which explore our relationship to the natural world - on the theme of Nature's Wisdom and Healing."

The entry date is September 15 (in the UK time zone). I just found out about it and couldn't tell you sooner!

Find out more here.

Do you use Kickstarter?

My project is up in preview mode and will be released later this week. If you can follow it today, that will help its visibility on Kickstarter.

That's all for now. Keep your eyes peeled for an email at the end of the week about The Curious Reader's Field Guide to Nonfiction.

Until then, happy writing.

Anne
